Greetings! My name is Seth Webster and I am a software professionaland total technology enthusiast. Currently, I lead a small, agile software development firm out of my home base of Tucson, Arizona. For the past 5 years we have been developing all sorts of software for hire such a learning management systems, Windows Mobile applications, e-commerce solutions, QuickBooks synchronization products and more.
Where to begin? I moved from my birthplace in the mid-west, Kansas City, MO to be exact, to Tucson, Arizona with my parents in 1981. My father, a very intelligent and gifted man, was taking a job developing software for Newmont Mining corporation. I remember that he would bring home huge reams of code and I would help him by looking through it for sequences of Fortran and Cobol. In 1984, after much begging, my dad, or "Pops" as he is now known, agreed to purchase an Apple IIc and thus began my software development career.
My mother, from whom I gained my performance chops, guided me in music and acting as a child. I performed in some local and touring theater productions in Tucson, Az. until my mid-teens. It was during this time that I also gained a love of electronics, dissecting many household appliances, tools and the rest. I definitely had some very angry parents during the time in which these things were randomly disappearing from the house. Gremlins?
For a large portion of my life, I created software to supplement my income as a professional musician. I performed with various bands and was on tour between '98 and '03 with the Bad News Blues Band, a rhythm and roots review band based also out of Tucson, Az. After a decade of music-as-a-living, I decided to take software on full time. In 2003, I founded Webglimmer Internet Solutions, a software house specializing in Internet based software like web sites, thin clients, mobile phone applications, learning management systems, e-commerce and QuickBooks synchronization products and more.
On July 20th, 2005, I married my wonderful, amazing wife. We also have three incredible dogs, Pushkin, Otis and Galileo.
The bottom line: I love technology, photography, animals (all of them), and family. I love my family the most.
Thanks for spending those life minutes here, and reading about me.
